​​Dr Nina-Marie King is an Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric and General Surgeon dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based surgical care with compassion, precision and professionalism.

She completed her undergraduate medical degree at James Cook University and her junior doctor years in Townsville and Sydney. She received her Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) after completing General Surgical training through St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, and its affiliated peripheral hospitals throughout NSW. During this training, she also completed a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney and a Postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Otago, Dunedin.

Dr King completed fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Tweed Valley Hospital, John Flynn Hospital and Northern Beaches Hospital. During this time, she gained substantial experience in the assessment, operative and non-operative management of high acuity oesophagogastric, hepatobiliary and bariatric surgical patients, including the management of complex upper GI pathology and complications following bariatric surgery.

Her clinical interests include:

• Hiatus hernia repair
• Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and anti-reflux surgery
  
• Bariatric (metabolic/weight loss) surgery
  
• Abdominal wall hernia surgery
  
• Gallbladder surgery
  

Dr King is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Strathfield Private Hospital and Southern Highlands Private Hospital.

Dr King's practice philosophy centres on patient-centred communication and shared decision-making. She values collaborative, multidisciplinary care and is committed to maintaining clear, timely communication with referring practitioners, ensuring patients receive coordinated, evidence-based care tailored to their individual needs.
